Colonel Kelly Johnson is currently the future operations planner for the 76th ORC and will be a 2024 graduate of the United States Army War College. He received his commission as an Armor Officer from the State of Minnesota Officer Candidate School in 1998. He is a graduate of the Armor Officer Basic, the Scout Platoon Leaders Course, Cavalry Leaders Course, Mission Command 101 and 201, Simulations Operations (57 A) Course, Senior Officer's Legal Orientation Course, Command and General Staff College, Advanced Operations Course, and the United States Army War College. Colonel Johnson holds a Master of Arts degree from Park University in communication and Leadership and will have a Master of Strategic studies from the U.S. Army War College in July 2024. On the civilian side, Kelly Johnson is a Sergeant in the MN State Patrol in the office of the Office of Pupil Training and Safety. He has been in law enforcement since 2001 and has seen many changes since beginning his career over 22 years ago. In his presentation, Kelly will give his testimony and talk about many changes, highlights, and struggles throughout his military and law enforcement careers. Kelly lives in Bemidji, MN with his wife of 20 years, Aricka, and their children Nicholas (17) and Naomi (14). They enjoy watching both their children play hockey, baseball, softball, and tennis. As a family enjoy traveling and seeing and learning new things together.
