Our speaker is Joe Katzung
Joe Katzung is 26 years old and has lived in Bemidji since 2015. He works for the Sheriff's as a Patrol Deputy and has been with the County since 2018. He is a member of the MN National Guard for 9 years. He has served as an infantryman and qualified as a Sniper. Most recently Joe was deployed overseas for most of 2021 serving in Kuwait, Jordan, Qatar, and Afghanistan. The Lord has blessed Joe in abundantly in these endeavors and he will sharing testimony.

May 7th at BEMIDJI FIRST ASSEMBLY CHURCH at Grant Avenue & 4TH Street SE,
beginning at 8:00 a.m. A light breakfast will be served. Come hungry and join in on the food, worship, testimonies and fellowship with the men and women for this time of refreshing in the Lord.
Our guest speaker is Terry Smith from Bemidji who, over a thirty-seven year span worked as a uniformed police officer, a long-haired undercover narcotics agent, an organized crime investigator, a SWAT commander, and a homicide detective. He began his career with the Bloomington, MN Police Department, then moved on to do thirty years with the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA). During his last seventeen years he ran a squad of homicide investigators for the BCA. In his book CODE 4 Smith writes about things that happened while he was “protecting and serving.” Some of them were dangerous, some gut-wrenchingly tragic and some humorous. He speaks with insight about the people he worked with “who could be kind or hard-edged as circumstances demanded” and the toll the policing took on their lives.
In 2001 Terry received the Minnesota Police and Peace Officers Association honorable mention award as Minnesota Police officer of the Year.
