​Jason Riggs, Field of Operations Captain in Beltrami County 

Our guest speaker is Captain Jason Riggs from the Beltrami County Sheriff's Department having joined the Department in 2004.  He was born in Bemidji, grew up in Deer River, enlisted in the United States Navy in 1990, serving until 1995.  He enlisted in the MN Army national Guard in 1996, serving until 2001. He completed the Hibbing Range Technical College Law Enforcement program in 1998 after which he married the love of his life, Kathleen in 1998. He began his career in Law Enforcement in 2001 with the City of Deer River.  He then worked full time at the Juvenile Center in Grand Rapids as well a part time Police Officer in Deer River and Floodwood. He has also worked for the Leech lake Police Department, the Leech Lake Indian Reservation, and was the Blackduck City Polce Chief until 2004.  At that time, he became a Deputy with the Beltrami County Sheriff's Office and was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 2010.  In 2011 he was elected as Mayor of Blackduck and served for 1.5 years.  In 2011 he attended the 247th Session of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, VA.  In 2019 he was promoted to the rank of Captain and currently serves as the Headwaters SWAT team Commander, having been on the SWAT team for 17 years.  He is a member of Bemidji First Assembly Church in Nymore.

Coffee and donuts will be served. Come and join in on the worship, testimonies and fellowship with the men and women for this time of refreshing in the Lord.  We will be observing all Social Distancing recommendations as well as complying with other related recommendations as you are comfortable with.  One day in the future we’re certain that we’ll return to normal, albeit a new normal.
