Neil grew up in a Christian home in Carlsbad, Minnesota and found his love of his life, Celeste, who has been his wife for 52 years. His undergraduate degree was from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota and his first two years of medical school were at UND in Grand Forks, then graduating "with Honors" from Baylor in Houston, Texas. His medical practice started in Roseau, Minnesota July 1st of 1975, and they then moved to Bemidji in March of 1979. it has been a blessing to be in an active, full-range family practice. He retired July 1st, 2015 -- 40 years to the day in practice. Neil and Celeste have been blessed with three children and 7 grandchildren. Joshua, married Amy, is a pastor in Montgomery, Illinois. Noah, married Cori, has a position at Dartmouth College and lives in Vermont. Natalie, married last September to Miguel Villalpando, owns a consulting business that helps write and facilitate Public Health grants, primary related to drug and alcohol abuse prevention for youth in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Neil has been a long-time member of the Christian medical and Dental Society, and now enjoying and continuing to be busy in retirement. |
